How to Install Home Assistant on Windows with Hyper-V

Works on Windows 10/11 Pro or Enterprise. 1. Enable Hyper-V Press Windows Key + S , type Windows Features , and click Turn Windows features on or off . Tick Hyper-V , Hyper-V Management Tools , and Hyper-V Platform . Click OK , reboot your computer. 2. Download the Home Assistant VHDX Go to: Home Assistant – Windows Installation Download the VHDX (Hyper-V) image. Extract it to a folder you can easily find (e.g., C:\VMs\HomeAssistant ). 3. Create the Virtual Machine Press Windows Key , search for Hyper-V Manager , and open it. On the right-hand menu, click Quick Create . Select Local installation source → choose any existing image for now (we’ll replace it later). Give the VM a name, click Create Virtual Machine . 4. To install, plug the USB drive into the PC and run this command in the terminal

sudo apt install git p7zip-full python3-pip python3-wxgtk4.0 grub2-common grub-pc-bin

Then run this command

sudo pip3 install WoeUSB-ng
