Quantum Archeology

What if quantum computers of the future were so advanced, their algorithm's could travel back in time? History has always been written by the survivors, but in the year 2126, it is being actively re-rendered by the algorithms . When we think of the legendary Voyager probes of the late 20th century, we remember their rudimentary, solid-state vidicon cameras. They were beautiful in their simplicity, capturing raw, granular slices of the cosmos, encoding humanity’s first fragile steps into the void. Today, a century later, a radically different kind of camera is looking back. We don't call them cameras anymore. We call them Quantum Chrono-Mappers. And they are looking directly at you. The line between a computer and a telescope has entirely blurred. Using highly advanced, room-temperature topological quantum processors, today’s computing clusters process trillions of qubits simultaneously, bypassing the classical physical limitations of the past. These machines don...

Native Linux GeForce NOW App Enters Beta

Here is a blog post summarizing the announcement.
Linux Gaming Just Got a Serious Upgrade: Native GeForce NOW App Enters Beta
If you’re a Linux user who has been waiting for a seamless cloud gaming experience, the wait is finally over. NVIDIA has officially launched the beta for a native GeForce NOW app for Linux PCs, bringing the full power of the cloud to your desktop without the need for browser workarounds or Steam Deck-specific tweaks.
Here is everything you need to know about this week’s "GFN Thursday" update.
A True Desktop Experience
Until now, the Linux experience for GeForce NOW was largely tuned for the Steam Deck, targeting handheld resolutions and lower frame rates. The beta is built specifically for PCs and notebooks, aiming to provide parity with the Windows and macOS apps.

The app supports streaming at up to 5K resolution at 120 frames per second, or 1080p at a blistering 360 fps.
Because the heavy lifting is done in the cloud, even modest Linux setups can now leverage top-tier RTX technologies, including Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4, to run demanding titles that might otherwise struggle on local hardware.
New Games Added This Week
It wouldn’t be a GFN Thursday without a fresh batch of games. To celebrate the native Linux app, NVIDIA has added ten new titles to the library.

Highlights include:

 * The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut: A dungeon-crawling RPG packed with puzzles and tactical battles.
 * The Bard’s Tale Trilogy: The remastered classic that started it all.
 * Cairn: A tense survival-climbing adventure from The Game Bakers.
Also joining the cloud:
 * The Midnight Walkers
 * Prototype & Prototype 2
 * Warhammer 40,000: SPACE MARINE 2 (Xbox/Game Pass)
 * Half Sword
 * Vampires: Bloodlord Rising
 * Total War: Three Kingdoms

Additionally, tactical shooter fans can look forward to Delta Force (Team Jade), which deploys to the cloud on February 3.
How to Get Started
The native GeForce NOW app for Linux is available for download in beta starting today.
